Join us for a reintroduction to the Western Educational Equity Assistance Center, one of four recently reinstated Equity Assistance Centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education under Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This portfolio of regional centers is charged with providing training and technical assistance at the request of school boards and other relevant governmental agencies on issues of equity related to race, national origin, sex, or religion. This support is designed to help educational systems improve their capacity to address challenges resulting from desegregation and educational inequities, and to increase educational opportunities for all students.
The Western Educational Equity Assistance Center serves 16 states and territories across the western region, offering no-cost, federally funded technical assistance and support to school districts, local and state education agencies, and other responsible governmental organizations. This webinar is an opportunity for participants to:
- Learn about emerging themes from the WEEAC’s ongoing strengths and needs sensing efforts
- Contribute to a shared understanding of the strengths and needs related to educational excellence for all
- Discover the services and supports available to local and state agencies through the WEEAC
This session is designed for local and state education agency leaders interested in learning more about how the WEEAC can support your efforts to create the conditions in which every student you serve can learn, develop, and thrive.
