Northwest

Amber Valdez

As the WEEAC Technical Assistance Lead for the Northwest Subregion, Valdez oversees the Center’s portfolio in Alaska, Oregon, and Washington. Previously, she served as Senior Technical Assistance Provider for the Region 15 Comprehensive Center and the National Center to Improve Social and Emotional Learning and School Safety. Valdez supports state and local education agencies in community engagement, strategic planning, policymaking, organizational development, and strengthening leadership capacity. She has published and presented on participatory systems change, equity-driven continuous improvement, and cross-sector interagency collaboration. Valdez earned her M.A. and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Mills College.
